Flexible nano-porous insulation blanket that is used for insulation at high temperatures. Silica-based aerogel particles incorporated into a non-woven carbon and glass fiber batting blanket that is non-toxic, supple, low dusting, and waterproof, making it ideal for wet environments. The blanket has a maximum continuous service temperature of 385°C (725°F) and a thermal conductivity at 37°C (98.6°F) of only 10-12mW/m-K; it may be cut using conventional textile cutting tools and fastened using mechanical means or by encapsulation. Sheets are available in 24 x 36 in (61 x 91.5 cm) and continuous rolls of 60 in (152.5 cm) wide and 1/8 in (0.32 cm) thick. The sheets may be cut using conventional textile cutting tools such as scissors and razor knives. Current applications include insulation pipes, footwear, extreme weather apparel, boilers and underground steam lines.

Flexible nano-porous insulation blanket. Silica-based aerogel particles incorporated into a high loft value blanket that is non-toxic, supple, low dusting, and waterproof, making it ideal for wet environments. The blanket is composed of 40 to 50% silica aerogel, 10 to 20% polyester (PET), 10 to 20% glass fibers and 0 to 5% magnesium hydroxide flame retardant. The blanket has two to four times the insulating value per inch compared to fiberglass or foam. The blanket has a thermal conductivity at 37°C (98.6°F) of only 10-12mW/m-K; has a maximum continuous service temperature of 150°C (300°F) and may be cut using conventional textile cutting tools and fastened using mechanical means or by encapsulation. Sheets are available in 24 x 36 in (61 x 91.5 cm) and continuous rolls of 60 in (152.5 cm) wide and 1/8 in (0.32 cm) thick. Current applications include insulation for jackets, footwear and sleeping bags.

ARA-Coatings
ARA-Coatings
ARA-Coatings GmbH & Co. KG
A vacuum coating technology for the application of thin layers whereby individual color and functional coatings are created on various materials like glass, metal, plastics and ceramics. This patented nanocoating technology enables the creation of hundreds of pastel and glossy colors with a unique brilliance. Metallic effects are also possible. In addition, product properties like hardness, chemical, mechanical or thermal resistance can be specifically improved and realized in a single coating process. Easy-to-clean properties of glass surfaces or the concealing of fingerprints on metal surfaces are also possible. The equipment used for these coatings enables a variety of possible layer and material combinations. A modular constructed charging device allows for the efficient coating of products in various sizes. Applications are for luxury and brand name products, for the sanitary and cosmetics sector and high temperature applications in space technology as well as jewelry decors.

Nanofiber Matrix
Nanosan® Nanofiber Matrix
SNS Nano Fiber Technology, LLC
http://www.snsnano.com/
A nonwoven micro- and nano-fiber material with high absorbancy and elasticity, and an extremely soft feel. Functional particles, from nanoscale dimensions to as large as 250 microns, can be entrapped or encapsulated in the fiber matrix. These particles may be selected to achieve specific properties in the material, such as protein or oil absorbency, or increased absorption of water. The material has a high surface to volume ratio due to the nanofiber composition, which produces a breathable fabric. The material is elastic, with elongation of up to 500%. The material is highly absorbent in water, and is able to retain up to 1,100% of its weight. When super absorbent particles (SAPs) are incorporated into the fabric, the absorbance increases to 18,500%. The fabric is produced using polyurethane, but can be manufactured from a mixture of other polymer compositions as well. The manufacturer will produce the nanofiber matrix from various polymer blends and with standard or custom particle additives. The mats are sold in rolls or sheets with width up to 1 m (3.28 ft) and thickness up to 2 mm (0.08 in). Applications include filtration, medical and personal care products, fuel cell membranes, and barrier and protective military garments.
